Retoucher (Projected-Base Freelancer)

POSITION SUMMARY
• High-end Ecomm Photography studio that is looking for someone that has high volume experience in photo retouching.
• Responsible for taking digital images and manipulating them to produce a high-quality product.
• Responsible to work successfully within a close, collaborative team environment.
• Responsible in complying with all work processes and procedures to meet the desired end.result.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

• Retouch digital files for web and print.
• Color correction of clothing, furniture, jewelry, electronics, flesh tones
• Moiré removal, image sharpening, image compositing.
• Prepare images for client delivery.
• Communicate with Producers, Color Analysts, Production Team regarding client and in-house specifications.
• Meet deadlines. Be able to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Responsible to keep abreast with industry and software changes and updates. Continually develop retouching skills.• Participate in peer teams to improve efficiency, quality, service and profitability. Identify and develop systems to support efficiency.• Proactively assist in problem solving within team and across department.REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training:

• Minimum of two year college degree; Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus

• Minimum of three years in color correction, retouching and all areas of digital imaging production

• Minimum of two years in prepress production environment is a plus

Qualifications:

• Expert working knowledge of Photoshop, Layers/Sets, masks, paths, color correction tools, actions, batch processing.

• Strong knowledge of color theory and RGB, CMYK color spaces.

• Working knowledge of MAC OSX, Excel, Word, FTP, FileMaker Pro.

• Strong working knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Bridge.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong teamwork skills.

• Ability to make sound decisions with limited information; ability to work independently in a team environment.

• Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary or scheduled.

• Plus to show portfolio (before and after shots) of recent work at interview.

Technical:

• EXPERT working knowledge of Photoshop CS5. Layers/Sets, masks, paths, color correction tools, actions, batch processing.

• Thorough working knowledge of MAC OSX.

• Strong knowledge of color theory and RGB, CMYK color spaces.

• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, FTP, FileMaker Pro.
